Sustainable Agriculture in Bhoomi Project of Uttrakhand October 2010

A State level consultation on Challenges and Scope - Sustainable Agriculture in Bhoomi Project of Uttrakhand was coordinated and organized Saksham India Trust in Dehradun on the 28th of October 2010.

Eminent panelists like- Vijay Jardhari , Utkarsh Kr. Sinha, Geeta Gairaula and Biju Negi were present in this consultation. Participants comprised of – all Project Directors and Project Officers of ARPAN, MKS, KSS and SOTEC who are our Bhoomi Project partners. Each partner brought along five farmers each with them who are practicing organic farming in their respective project areas.

A joint consultation was also held with few eminent activists of Uttrakhand who are directly involved in a state level campaign for saving traditional / indigenous seed from extinction and have been pressuring government for a state level policy.

Each Bhoomi partner volunteered to promote and aware all farmers in their respective areas and also organize farmers’ meet.
